LEE Yongsok
Chairman & CEO, Korean Register

As always, KR is pleased to be back in Singapore to strengthen this regional partnership, a commitment that matters more than ever as the maritime community faces growing challenges together.

On behalf of Korean Register, it is my great pleasure to welcome our industry partners, and distinguished guests to the 2026 KR Singapore Annual Reception and Technical Seminar, held this year at the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering in Singapore. It is also my first time hosting this event as Chairman and CEO of KR, since assuming the role last December.

Southeast Asia, and Singapore in particular, continues to grow in importance as a center of maritime activity, and our continued investment in the people, partnerships, and platforms that serve this region reflects an enduring commitment to being present where our clients need us most.

This Year’s Program

To bring our partners the latest thinking on the issues that matter most, this year’s program features an update on KR’s activities, the outcomes of IMO’s MEPC 84, recent developments in Korean shipbuilding, and the introduction of KR’s newest digital offering, the Cyber Resilience Platform (KR-CRP). We are also pleased to welcome a special guest from Kpler, who will share practical insights on maritime risk and sanctions-related compliance, guidance that is increasingly relevant for fleets navigating today’s shifting geopolitical landscape.

Decarbonization, digitalization, and an increasingly complex regulatory landscape are reshaping our industry; none of us can navigate them alone, which is why gatherings like this remain so valuable to KR and to the wider maritime community we serve.

We thank all our partners and guests for their continued trust and support and look forward to welcoming everyone to Singapore.
